- reside, attend school or work in Illinois area codes 847, 224, 630, 331, 815, 779, 312, 773 or 708
- meet character criteria as set forth by the Miss America Organization
- be in reasonably good health to meet the job requirements
- must be able to meet the time commitment and job responsibilities
